Girda’s box-supper. Everything went off slick as grease. I didn’t take any “supper” but had a good time.

Wish I could go back with Alice for a visit - and just for a visit. But I’m afraid I can’t.

Alice and Billie Inman are coming back. H’ray. They’re bringing Eddie along too. Two h’rays!!

Aunt Alice - Grandma’s sister - is the only name I know here for sure, although the others have been mentioned prior.

I love her use of h’ray! We asked our guests to do three “hip hip hoorays” after our wedding vows, which was awesome.

Tried to ride Bud Springer’s horse but couldn’t get him past the corner. Guess no one will ever steal that brute!

I wish I could find a photo of Grandma horseback riding.

About Alma's Diary

These are my grandma's diary entries from the Great Depression, when she was 16 and living on a farm in Nebraska. The sweet image above is from a valentine in her scrapbook. I love peeking into her past and hope you do too.

Grandma Alma received her "My Five Years" diary as a high school graduation gift. It allows four little lines of writing each day.

So far she's written about canning peaches, her first date ever and cooking for the threshers who worked on the farm. She also shares her inspirations and reflections as an aspiring journalist and poet.

Hooray for G-Ma!
