That means my great-grandfather was born in 1874. That also means he was about 42 when my grandmother was born.
Also: “dad” / “mother”
The latter feels so formal compared to the former.
Mother and I just had a dispute whether it is today or yesterday. The days are all alike.
Mother and Russel went to church. Had car trouble and didn’t get home till three o’clock.
What is it about Grandma’s syntax that makes it sound so 1931?
Went to Guide Rock. Saw the show “East Lynn.” Surely a fine show. Went with mother.
I wonder when “Mom” came into fashion. “Mother” sounds so formal now.
